Special opening of the ski lifts for the long weekend from 30 May to 2 June, featuring the Bike Park, Alpine Coaster and Adventure Park. The mountain hut season is also set to begin.
As the warmer weather approaches, Bardonecchia is preparing to welcome back lovers of the mountains, sport and good food. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday 30 May 2026, with a special opening until Tuesday 2 June. Thereafter, facilities will be open at weekends until 26 June, daily from 27 June to 30 August, and on the weekend of 5 and 6 September.
RENTAL, BIKE PARK AND LIFTS: FROM THE JAFFERAU TRAILS TO MELEZET
At the heart of the summer programme is the Bardonecchia Bike Park, which will officially open on 30 May. Thanks to the Smith 4 and Melezet-Chesal chairlifts, equipped to carry mountain bikes, it will be possible to quickly reach the high-altitude trails for cross-country, freeride and downhill. At Campo Smith, the Mondraker bike hire service will also be available, offering bikes for every discipline and size. The network of facilities will expand over the summer: from 25 July to 23 August, the Jafferau Cable Car will open, allowing cyclists and trekkers to explore the Rochemolles Valley, the historic Decauville railway and the views at 2,000 metres.
ADRENALINE AND FAMILY FUN AT CAMPO SMITH
It’s not just about cycling: from the long weekend onwards, you’ll be able to whizz through the woods on the Alpine Coaster, a two-seater rail-based toboggan. Also at Campo Smith, the Adventure Park (with trails for adults and children) and the climbing wall will open. From 18 July to 22 August, the Bardo Express train will also return, with a special combined offer including the train journey, a chairlift ticket and lunch at high altitude at Chesal 1805.
FOOD AND DRINK: THE OPENING OF CHESAL AND THE MOUNTAIN HUTS
The gastronomic offering for the resort’s summer season kicks off with the long weekend of 30 May–2 June and will expand throughout the season:
- Waikiki in Melezet, at the base of the ski lifts, where you can enjoy an excellent Neapolitan pizza.
- The Pian del Sole restaurant, at the top of the Smith 4 chairlift, for lunch with a panoramic view.
- Bar Smith and Harald’s Restaurant in Campo Smith, with a solarium and outdoor area surrounded by greenery to fully enjoy the wonderful sunny days.
- The Chesal restaurant, situated at an altitude of 1,805 metres, which will be open every day from 18 July to 22 August.
