Bardonecchia is hosting the 2026 FIS Telemark World Championships. Following yesterday’s opening with the Sprint event, on Thursday 12 March, young athletes competed on the FISI 50 slope at Colomion in the flagship event, the Classic.
A single descent on significantly longer and more demanding skis put the athletes’ physical endurance to the test, starting from the top of the FISI 50 course and finishing at the Pian del Sole area. Taking the top step of the podium in the Women’s category was Mansart Lenaig, who claimed the gold medal with a time of 2:12:17 and a few penalties. The gold medal in the men’s event, meanwhile, was won by Noaksson Alvin with a time of 1:58.56 and zero penalties.
Tomorrow, Friday 13 March, the Parallel, individual and team events will bring the Junior Telemark World Championships in Bardonecchia to a close. The competition will take place on the La Stampa slope, with the finish line once again at Pian del Sole. From 9.15 am, the knockout heats will begin, leading up to the semi-finals and finals that will decide the world championship medals in this discipline.
Don’t miss the two-day FIS Telemark World Cup on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 March, also at Pian del Sole. The big names in the discipline will be in action, chasing valuable points to secure the coveted Crystal Globe.
