Trekking
Excursions high in the mountains
Bardonecchia and its valleys offers a huge range of opportunities for mountain walkers: footpaths, tracks and ex military roads wind from the bases to the tops of the mountains from altitudes of 1300 to 3500 metres
The wide variety of trails available means there are routes suited to all types of walkers: a simple stroller, a more experienced trekker or a true alpinist.
Along sunny paths and through larch and pine wood trails you will reach the best known summits of Bardonecchia and the Susa Valley: The Guglia Rossa, Val Fredda, the Tre Croci, the Sommeiller glacier, Mount Tabor and the Pierre Menue. You can stop en route at a mountain refuge or in one of the many alpine meadows.
Bardonecchia also offers numerous opportunities for excursions and trekking by taking the lifts up the mountains.
Are you an experienced mountaineer?
The magnificence of the olympic mountains of Bardonecchia and its unspoilt nature are the perfect setting for engaging in climbing activities. Free-climbing lovers will find several equipped rock faces and a via ferrata.
One of the best known rock faces in the area, loved by all climbers, is the Parete dei Militi in nearby Valle Stretta. In the eighties the first climbing world championships were held here. Also in the Valle Stretta there are many large rock masses to climb.
